Rudolph Giuliani denied Monday morning reports that he was being considered by President Donald Trump to replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the helm of the Department of Justice, CNN reports.
White House officials told Axios that Trump had floated the idea of replacing Sessions with Giuliani, a former New York City mayor and ardent Trump supporter. In an interview last week with the New York Times, Trump said it was “unfair” of Sessions to accept the position of attorney general and then to recuse himself from the Russia investigation.
However, Giuliani told CNN that Sessions “made the right decision” in his recusal.
