President Donald Trump is expected to sign a controversial executive order on religious freedom on Thursday—the National Day of Prayer—Politico reports.

Senior White House officials told Politico that lawyers are still finalizing the language of the order, but progressive groups are concerned (based on an early version of the order that leaked to The Nation) that it will effectively legalize discrimination. The order would allow any person or organization to claim religious objections under a broad range of circumstances including same-sex marriage, transgenderism, abortion, and other forms of birth control currently protected by the Affordable Care Act.
