Jeff Sessions Wants to Scale Back on Civil Rights Lawsuits

Attorney General Jeff Sessions plans to have the Department of Justice scale back on lawsuits against police departments for violating minority civil rights, NBC reported. This would represent a shift away from the approach of the Obama administration, which opened 25 investigations into law enforcement agencies and was enforcing 19 agreements by the end of last year. Sessions added that, while reducing action against police departments, he would encourage federal prosecution for crimes that used guns.
