Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes has resigned, parent company 21st Century Fox announced today. A press release from the company praised Ailes’ contributions to the network. Rupert Murdoch will take his place.
Over the past several weeks, Ailes has faced mounting, public allegations that he sexually harassed women he had supervisory or hiring power over—a problem that research shows isn’t uncommon in media workplaces.
