First, the answer to last week’s contest: Duke University. This one was tough: Answers ranged from University of California-Berkeley to University Bordeaux Montaigne. We selected reader Hannah Peckham for a free subscription to Pacific Standard in print because of the detail in her answer:
It looks like the view from Duke Chapel, although I’m not sure which window has that much graffiti on it. The people below are waiting for the bus by the roundabout, and to the left would be the Allen building, where much of the university’s administration has offices.
The photograph was submitted by Chris Hildreth on behalf of Duke Photography. It appears in a project, Document Duke 360º, that the office is coordinating with the university’s Center for Documentary Studies. It is indeed a “View from Duke Chapel Tower,” as its caption states, and was taken by Daniel Heynen, an MBA candidate at the school’s Fuqua School of Business.
