Today is Flag Day. Happy Flag Day! History note: Flag Day marks the anniversary of the day in 1777 when the United States of America adopted the Stars and Stripes as its flag model. One could—and one would be right—to argue that the move away from the “Don’t Tread on Me” snake flag was the gravest mistake in this country’s history and a precursor to all of the ills that have plagued this nation ever since, but I am not going to do that.
