In what is being called the biggest protest for gun control in at least a generation, tens of thousands of people have joined more than 800 rallies taking place in every state and on every continent with the exception of Antarctica today. The largest gathering is expected to take place in Washington, D.C., where the National Park Service has approved a permit for a march that some estimate could attract up to 500,000 people over the course of the day. Collectively known as “March for Our Lives,” the gatherings were organized in response to the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School a little over a month ago. In D.C., some of the student activists from Marjory Stoneman in Parkland, Florida, will address the crowd.
