Robert
Solow, an emeritus professor of economics at MIT, won the Nobel Memorial Prize
in Economic Sciences in 1987 and in 2014 was awarded the Presidential Medal of
Freedom. He is the Robert K. Merton Scholar of the Russell
Sage Foundation.
