At Least One Dead After Shooting Near a Los Angeles County Polling Station

A shooting close to a polling place in Azusa, California, has killed one person and wounded at least three others, the Los Angeles Timesreports.

At least one of the victims was headed to vote at the polls, according to the Times. But local law enforcement said it’s too early to determine the motive behind the attack, telling the Times that the shooting “appears to be concentrated on the residential side” of the area rather than the polling station in Azusa — about an hour east of Los Angeles.

The shooting shut down two polling centers and multiple local schools and daycare centers. This is so far the only widely reported election-based shooting.
