After a public, protracted battle between industry leaders and local lawmakers in Utah, the popular outdoor trade show Outdoor Retailer will move to Denver from Salt Lake City next January, the Denver Post reports. The biannual event earned Utah a whopping $45 million.
While the decision has not yet been confirmed by state officials, the Post reports that Outdoor Retailer executives are flying to Denver for a joint announcement planned Thursday with Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock.
The Colorado Convention Center will reportedly host the four-day show, where retailers, manufacturers, and suppliers of outdoor gear host seminars and allow the public to try new equipment.
