What is the difference between a subscription to Pacific Standard and a membership to PS Premium?

Pacific Standard readers can purchase an annual print subscription to Pacific Standard magazine, or become a member of PS Premium online. PS Premium members receive both an exclusive print and online experience:

A subscription to Pacific Standard magazine is billed annually and includes eight (8) print issues, delivered to your mailbox in February, March/April, May, June/July, August, September/October, November, and December/January. You can subscribe to print here.

Premium members receive: a print issue, early online access to features, special behind-the-scenes interviews and reviews by Pacific Standard staff, discounts on gift subscriptions, and access to a member-only, ad-free online environment. PS Premium is billed monthly or annually—your choice. Receive a 30-day free trial here.

I'm a current subscriber to Pacific Standard magazine. Am I automatically a Premium member?

No. A membership to PS Premium, a special online and print experience, is different than your subscription to Pacific Standard magazine. While both will include a print subscription, your Premium access includes additional benefits.

Can I switch my current subscription to Pacific Standard magazine and join PS Premium?

If you are already receiving a print subscription, and want to upgrade to a PS Premium membership, you can cancel your regular print subscription by emailing customer service here, and join PS Premium here. You will receive a full refund for the remaining issues in your original subscription. Please include your name, address, and phone number.

Can the refund from my regular print subscription be applied to my PS Premium subscription?

Unfortunately, we can't transfer a refund from a print subscription to the Premium membership. Your PS Premium membership is billed automatically to your credit card each month, unless or until you cancel. The monthly charge is $3.99 (an annual membership is available for a discounted rate of $39). Your print subscription was billed and already paid in full, as a one-time transaction, at the beginning of the term. To receive a refund, we need to credit the remaining balance to your original form of payment.

Can you let me know if my subscription has me at the Premium member level?

A subscription to Pacific Standard magazine is different from a membership to PS Premium. To join PS Premium, and receive Premium access, you must become a member of PS Premium and sign up for a free 30-day trial. PS Premium uses your Facebook or Google login—or can be associated with your email address. Once you join, you will remain signed in, and experience an ad-free version of PSmag.com, until you sign out. You can use your email to receive a link to your membership, or to begin a free trial.

Can I cancel my PS Premium membership, and only receive a print subscription?

Yes, you can cancel your membership online at any time. To receive a print subscription, you can subscribe here.

What is The Lede? I just received it in my inbox. Was my print subscription applied to the new membership?

The Lede is an exclusive weekly newsletter created for Premium members only, offering behind-the-scenes access to Pacific Standard staff and contributors. Occasionally, we will send a copy of the newsletter to all subscribers as a preview of Premium membership offerings.
