Tuesday marked the one-year anniversary since a wave of violence forced more than 720,000 Rohingya to flee into the Cox's Bazar district. United Nations investigators said on Monday that Myanmar's army had carried out genocide against the Rohingya in Rakhine state, and that its top military figures must be investigated for crimes against minorities across the country. The U.N. report accused Myanmar's military of murders, imprisonments, enforced disappearances, torture, rape, and other forms of sexual violence in Rakhine state, all of which constitute crimes against humanity.
