The thousands of West Virginia teachers and service employees striking against their planned pay increases—which they deem too low—will continue picketing tomorrow, the Washington Post reports.
Union leaders are demanding that Governor Jim Justice and state representatives arrange a meeting to hear employee demands for higher pay raises. West Virginia’s average pay for educators ranks 48th in the nation.
The strike, which drew around 20,000 teachers and 13,000 school service employees since starting last Thursday, has closed schools in all 55 West Virginia counties.
