The Edit, Episode #16: Sailing Blind

On the latest episode of Pacific Standard’s podcast about how our stories are made, associate editor Ben Rowen narrates our most recent feature by Benjamin Rachlin.

On this special episode of The Edit, Pacific Standard associate editor Ben Rowen narrates Benjamin Rachlin’s feature “Sailing Blind,” a story about visually impaired sailors who find adventure and competition out on the water.

Rachlin tracks how new technology is revolutionizing the sport of blind sailing. Sailors Mark Bos, Matt Chao, and BJ Blahnik each lost their sight in different ways, but their desire to compete at the extreme end of adventure sports brought them together.
