The House of Representatives on Friday ratified a measure to raise the debt ceiling and fund the government through December 8th, signing off on the deal struck between Senate Democrats and President Donald Trump that the Senate passed Thursday afternoon. The bill also includes $15 billion in disaster aid for communities affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Though a faction of 120 Congressional Republicans initially voiced opposition to the bill, which did not include a round of tax cuts to pay for the additional funding, it passed in the House on a vote of 316–90. No Democrats voted in opposition to the bill.
The president is expected to sign off on the bill when it reaches his desk.
